Please Excuse My Swooning

Dear Loving Husband,

There's no need for you to read this post. Really, it's about nothing. Just move along, and continue with what you're doing. This is just pointless rambling. Have a great day! Love ya!

Is he gone?

Ok.

I'm worried about something, and I have to share it with you all.

You see, ever since I saw the movie "Troy", I've had this huge crush on Eric Bana.

He played Hector in the movie, Prince of Troy, King Priam's oldest son. Other people have told me that Brad Pitt was in that film, but you couldn't prove it by me. No wait...Brad Pitt was the one that KILLED Hector. That bastard. I never have liked him that much.

Seriously, is he yummy, or what? I'm watching him on Craig Ferguson's show right now, and holy Australian accent people, could he be any hotter?

So here is my fear. On Friday, the movie "The Time Traveler's Wife" is opening. It's based on a best-selling novel, which I have not yet read, but I have on hold at the library. I think I'm number 183 in line. I might have to bite the financial bullet and visit Barnes and Noble.

What's going to happen soon is that women all over this country, and probably several other countries, are going to fall in love with this man because of this movie. And I LOVED HIM FIRST.

I do not even know if I'm going to be able to go see this movie. First of all, the freaking TRAILER made me cry. Secondly, I have no friends here, and heaven knows my husband would never see this type of movie. (Even though I went to see Shooter, for Pete's sake.)

Maybe it's best I see it alone. My box of tissues and me. We will see it together. It will be my reward on the first day of school, I think.

Remember, he's mine. I just didn't want you to forget.

I'm hoping to see it Monday. The book is amazing. Buy it. I'd send you mine, but I already loaned it out.

Where exactly in Colorado are you? I'm going to be in Fort Collins for about half a day on August 28th--en route to Chicago.

The book is really good!I think as an actor that he could do some amazing things with this role!

I loved him in The Other Boleyn Girl too. (And of course, as the voice of Anchor in Finding Nemo!)

Do I dare admit that I've never heard of the guy?

Hope you are enjoying Colorado. We didn't pass through it on our vacation, maybe you'll run into Jen though! Enjoy your movie and book!

Jenn,
I'm in Littleton, which is sort of southwest of the Denver metro area. I think. My sense of direction is famously horrible. Anyway, Fort Collins is about 80-90 minutes north, if you believe Google maps. Are you going to be here in the morning or afternoon? Maybe I could make it up there for lunch? I would love to meet you.

Dear Husband Who Was Not Supposed To Read This: Shooter came out in 2007. Ghost came out in 1990. You went to see ONE chick flick with me 19 years ago? Are you really going to compare those two? And as for Star Trek...the only reason I went without you is because you were, you know, living in another state at the time. I'd be happy to watch the DVD with you. :)

Yeah...but the hangover from Ghost lasts forever. And I went to see Bejamin Button with you the last time we went to the movies together. So, no holdng Shooter against me. I can't wait for the DVD!

Ooh, that book is so great, it's a really quick read! I can't wait for the movie to come out too, but I don't think I'll get my husband to see it with me either (sadly). I'll bet you if you ask around your neighborhood you'll find plenty other women obsessed with the book who will go with you!

Ok, that settles it...I'm not waiting 34 weeks to get it at the library. B&N, here I come! I need something new to read anyway. Hopefully it's in paperback.

You REALLY need to buy this book. One of THE best books I have EVER read. And you do remember my book count from a couple of years ago, don't you? I read ALOT of books. ;)

OMG, you are ADORABLE. Where have I been since, um, you started blogging?

Get THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE off amazon.com--at a steal, I'm sure. It's a good read...but didn't wipe my heart out the way it did my sister's and All Other Women's. But just read it. Invariably, and no aspersions on your Eric here, the book has got to be better.

oooh nice fellow! I never saw Troy, so thank you for the introduction!
A way to meet the neighbor ladies? Organize a ladies day at the movies. I did it for Julie & Julia, we had a blast.

Oh you'll need the tissues. My boyfriend was sniffling and my the top of my head was damp at the end of the movie. I haven't seen him do that since Marley and Me, and really, you'd have to be inhuman not to cry watching that movie
