There's Nothing "Soft" About It

Danni's had quite a week in softball. In her game on Tuesday, she was at bat and was hit in the back of her right calf by a pitch. She was rewarded with this lovely-looking bruise. Well, I guess that's one way to get on base!

Then during practice yesterday, they were doing some sort of game/drill, and she and another girl were both diving for a ball. Danni ended up face-down on the ground, and the other girl stepped on the back of Danni's left thigh with her cleat. Yummy, no?

The really great part is that she's also a dancer, and she has tryouts for Modazz coming up this week on Wednesday and Thursday, which is an upper-level dance class at school. The tryouts this week are to get into the class for next year. At least tights can cover up the yucky and hold a bandage in place! Hopefully by Wednesday it won't be hurting her so much.

I don't think "you play like a girl" means the same thing as it used to.

No, "You play like a girl" means your a mom in training (a very very very long training!!!) you sacrifice your body (don't we all) play the game with all your heart (no matter what heartbreaker comes along)and you leave it all on the field of dreams!!! Way to go Danni....but OUCH! - KLM

Hee! Precious Oldest played softball in high school. Her coaches thouht she had some sort of "ball magnet" located in her legs. She got hit ALL THE TIME.

Another interesting twist to this for Danni is, She is the Pitcher. Both of these are on her left leg. Which, is the leg she steps out with, and all the weight ends up on after she throws the pitch.

Oh Dad, you should really pay more attention. The bruise is on her right calf, and the strawberry/scrape whateveritis is on her left thigh. I even asked her when I was writing the post, because I wanted to get it right. lol

hahaha, mom and dad mapping the bruises! LOL

We were always worried that our daughter's face would be the ball magnet when she played volleyball with braces. yikes. Luckily (or unluckily depending on your point of view) another brace-face girl was the ball magnet. Poor kid was always getting nailed in the face.

Go read my new post. ;-)

OK....I am slow on the draw. I missed the kids going to school blog/Horton/Pixar, etc. Thing. So sinc ethis is being read right now. I will add this. Pixar Even makes fun of themselves at the end of Cars. They are all at a drive in, watching "Toy Car Story ", then John Ratzenburger ( cliff from Cheers!) says about the pig, Good Voice, grewat Acting chops!, then, something from a car Bug Life, then on, and on about 5 times, then says " oh, come on!!!! it's always the same guy. Can't they get original?" I thought that line was funny.

Kenny got hit in the face with a baseball a few years ago too...I can't remember if that was before or after I 'met' you, Shell...he broke his cheekbone and his whole eye was swelled up. OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!

Just one of many injuries...we're renting an ER bed now. It's cheaper to just have it reserved, I think.
